Curriculum

Years 7 and 8

  • STEM: Mathematics, Science, ICT, Design and Technology, Geography

  • Humanities: English, History, French, Spanish, Latin, Religious Education

  • Creative: Art, Drama, Music

  • Games/Physical Education, including regular swimming lessons

  • PSHE (Personal, Social and Emotional Health Education)

Year 9

Pupils can tailor their learning by selecting elements of their curriculum, including a range of languages, creative and expressive disciplines.

Years 10 and 11

Every Pupil will study GCSE English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and either the Science Trilogy course (worth two GCSEs) or all three Sciences as separate GCSE subjects. Building on their core timetable, pupils can choose four or five further options from:

  • STEM: Computer Science, Design and Technology, Geography

  • Humanities: Business Studies, French, Spanish, Latin, Religious Education

  • Creative: Art, Drama and Theate

  • Physical Education

  • Careers talks and assemblies

    Knowing what to do next is never easy but at Hymers College we will do everything we can to support your child through our extensive careers programme, aimed at sparking ideas, gathering knowledge and skills.

    This includes careers fairs, interview preparation and work experience. All supported by our network of 9,000 Old Hymerians worldwide.

    From water polo to Warhammer Club, your child will be able to express themself and make new friends through over 100 co-curricular activities, clubs and societies.

Senior School Fees

As Hymers College is an independent (private) senior school, there are fees to attend.

From Year 7, academically gifted children whose parents are not in a financial position to pay the full fees are able to apply for our Fee Remission (bursary scheme).
