Where adventure stories begin…
Starting school is a massive step for every child, which is why we focus on putting your child first at Hymers College.
From September 2025, for the first time in Hymers history we will be welcoming these year groups to the main Hymers College campus in Hull.
Your child will be welcomed into a safe and welcoming environment where they can embark on the first stages of their learning adventure.
Hymers College offers the very best start for your child.

“Pupils demonstrate an extremely high level of achievement in their academic studies and through their co-curricular commitments.”
— Independent Schools Inspectorate
Curriculum
Hymers College offers a rich and varied curriculum, allowing your child to develop their skills through purposeful play and hands-on lessons.
Thematic learning will allow your child to explore new topics and will fuel their curiosity.
From learning about natural science at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, to making their own Puddling Lane to see how the Great Fire of London spread, your child will have a great time discovering the answers to their questions through maths, writing, reading, science experiments, performance, art and more!
We’ll make sure you’re involved every step of the way, sharing our topics and how you can support your child’s learning at home.
There’s no need to worry about SATs in Year 2 - we don’t participate here at Hymers. Instead, we will build close relationships with your child to track their progress throughout their time with us.
-
Co-Curricular Activities
We will offer your child the opportunity to discover new interests at an early age.
This includes weekly swimming lessons for Reception to Year 2 pupils and termly swimming sessions for Pre-School, as well as music lessons.
We also offer a range of different clubs throughout the year that your child can get involved with too.
-
A Caring Communiy
By joining the Hymers family, your child will make friends for life.
We have a diverse and welcoming community, where all children learn the importance of our CARE Code, which stands for Care, Acceptance, Respect and Effort.
Your child will join one of four Houses, allowing them to get to know pupils and staff across the school.
What’s more, they will gain an understanding of our wider world and how they can help, from performing at local care homes to fundraising for charities of their choice.

Wraparound Care
We know navigating the school run around work can be difficult.
To make it as easy as possible, we provide before school care from 7:45am and after school care until 5:45pm, with age appropriate activities to keep your little one engaged.
This is free of charge from Reception, with a small fee for Pre-School children.
